The Common or American crow is an extremely intelligent and social passerine. Having the same brain to body weight as a human being. they have been proven to be self aware, understand mortality, have been observed to teach each other and their offspring as well as engage in activities purely for fun.
I once observed a crow playing with a feather. I simply wanted to capture that intelligent, curious and playful nature.
