The Barred Owl is a larger species of True Owl (Strigiform), found throughout North America. They are not as nocturnal as other owls and so are very easy to observe resting and hunting during daylight hours, often close to the ground. Barred Owls are opportunistic predators and feed on almost anything smaller than themselves.
